Becoming a contributor
Locatour’s map is curated with the help of its most dedicated players. As you explore and level up, you can earn the chance to help shape the world that everyone else plays in.
What contributors do
Section titled “What contributors do”Trusted players help keep the map great:
- Suggest new locations — public, non-commercial places worth adding.
- Improve existing ones — better descriptions, photos, categories, and accuracy.
- Help review submissions — so the places that go live are genuinely public, safe, and worth visiting.
Why it’s earned, not open
Section titled “Why it’s earned, not open”Anyone can play, but curating the map is a privilege you level into. Like the communities behind Wikipedia or long-running online games, Locatour invites players who’ve shown they understand and care about the game to take on more responsibility.
Gating contribution this way protects the quality and integrity of the map: locations are added and moderated by people who’ve genuinely explored, not by anyone passing through.
How you become one
Section titled “How you become one”Keep playing, keep exploring, and keep levelling up. As you reach the higher levels, you become eligible to be invited into contributor and moderator roles. It’s a natural extension of the journey — the explorers who’ve seen the most are the ones best placed to help others discover it too.
The standard we hold
Section titled “The standard we hold”Every location on Locatour should be:
- Public and non-commercial — owned by everyone, free to visit.
- Safe and accessible to reach responsibly.
- Worth the trip — somewhere that helps create a memorable experience.
Contributors are the guardians of that standard.
